John Kendall
John Kendall is a professional forester with over 20 years of experience in community-based forest resource management working for many First Nations (FN) in Canada and rural communities in Central Africa. John has worked extensively in multi-disciplinary planning processes that actively integrate meaningful community/stakeholder input into the final management plan.
As expert counsel/consultant he has assisted African NGOs and FNs in rural economic diversification initiatives. He operates an NGO dedicated to the memory of his departed wife, the Simone Kendall Foundation, that is supporting community schools for AIDs orphans in Zambia and Burundi.
John is now helping communities move from despair to empowerment with a collective vision of prosperity and well-being.
For the last year, he has been using carbon financing (voluntary and regulated sectors) as an effective and respectful means to trigger self-empowerment to down-trodden communities so they can attend to their essential needs.
John is also the inventor of Freegro Tree Shelters.
